“It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end… because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing… this shadow. Even darkness must pass.”

Drafting and Planning: More Footage and brief synopsis for my trailer

Here's a small warning: there's a bit of 'back' nudity in these videos, just a glimpse, so it's nothing too much! And the moan/sigh in the end was deliberate to add to the 'suggestion' of what Alice could be about to do. But I did enjoy experimenting with the camera angles reflecting through the mirror.
I have been doing a lot of single shots of the protagonist, I know, but I will eventually get on with more 'panning' and 'tilting' shots with scenery and such things.

Shower Shots version 1

Shower Shots version 2

I have been careful to make sure in the filming and editing process that I wasn't 'crossing the line' of what was or wasn't appropriate. But I hope I got the balance right here; since I didn't want to be a coward and not show a suggestion of what she was doing; or else the narrative wouldn't show through enough!

Oh, and I managed to figure out a really brief synopsis for what the trailer is about!

"A loving but insecure girl tries to escape her harsh life by taking the fantasies of lonely, online lads (of whom she builds unique, individual, genuine bonds with) on her own shoulders. They all experience some form of virtual love and indulgence from her which, in their own realities, is usually deprived of them."

  1. I really like the first version the most. The way it stops as you drop the towel is more dramatic and would cut nicely to another scene. You could use these shots in between your previous shots of your online chats as like a hint at what is happening behind the scenes or something.

  2. I agree with Paige but I also think the picking up of the towel is effective as it looks as though you are ashamed of what youve been doing online. Both are really good though!

  3. I thought the exact same thing as Megan as soon as I saw it! Showing your back a bit definitely doesn't cross the boundaries as it's clear that you're showing the nudity without showing a lot. The cut as you're flicking your hair is especially cool timing.
